Kia has give a preview of the new 2009 Kia Cerato at Australian International Motor Show this year. The new 2009 Kia Cerato will be launched on the market in 2009, and characteristics of the H-grille design - the “new face of Kia”. Kia Cerato (2009) will be equipped with a 2-liter engine with Continuously Variable Valve (CVVT) or a 2.2-liter engine. 2009 Kia Cerato is more spacious and a longer wheelbase.

With six airbags and an iPod compatible stereo as standard equipment, and improved ride and handling and a five-year, unlimited km warranty, the Cerato will be sure to attract many attention. The Cerato 2.0 liter ‘Theta II’ is the most powerful engine in its class. Featuring continuous variable valve timing (CVVT) and a block of aluminum, the engine produces 115 kW of power at 6200rpm and 194Nm of torque at 4300rpm and can be matched to a five-speed manual or four-speed “Sportsmatic self. Buyers concerned about safety may be too easy. The standard equipment includes front airbags with dual SRS, SRS front side airbags and full length curtain SRS airbags, active head restraints and pre-tensioning seat belts for front seats and four wheel disc brakes with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), EBD (Electronic Brake force Distribution) and Brake Assist.

Inside the Cerato has a new, modern, two-tier instrument panel and sporty steering wheel Three speaks. Making use of its larger size in the interior grows in all dimensions, while all the doors wide open for easy entry. The model also equpped SLi with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift lever, alloy pedals, steering wheel audio controls, six-funtion trip computer and climate control.
