More Powerful V6 Engine Acura TL 2009

There are more spacious, more powerful V6 engine, new technologies and features lighter weight steering to help with parking maneuvers. There are also two TL models: the base of the car and most athletic model SH-AWD. His name suggests, the sophistication of all-wheel drive system that manages the model 306 horsepower (the base of the car is 280), eliminating torque steer and impressive cornering ability. Our opinion of the 2009 Acura TL varies by model. The base TL without options is really nothing more than a dressed Honda Accord V6, and as such, it is not the best choice. The technology package is a little more convincing, but we do think that the SH-AWD model, with its powerful V6, better handling and all-wheel drive traction is available.

The base model 2009 Acura TL is front-wheel drive and is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 280 hp and 254 lb-ft of torque. The all-wheel-drive 2009 TL SH-AWD gets a 3.7-liter V6 that makes 306 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. The all-wheel-drive system is capable of transferring different levels of power to individual wheels to maximize traction and grip in turns and the weather. Both TL models come standard with a five-speed automatic that includes automanual steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. Fuel economy for the 3.5-liter TL is 18 mpg city and 26 mpg highway, while the SH-AWD returns 17 city and 24 highways.

The 2009 Acura TL All models come with antilock disc brakes with brake assist, stability and traction control, front seat side airbags, long side-curtain airbags and active prior restraint. The center stack extends into a cascade fashion to the driver, who is the climate, audio and navigation right at hand. The steering wheel also has a number of buttons for audio, cruise control, trip computer, Bluetooth technology and the package of the large number of voice commands. With a plate (and LCD), a direct iPod interface is standard and one of the best available.

Since 2009 Acura TL models are equipped with different engines, different drive wheels, different sizes of steering wheels and electronic calibrations different, they are very different to drive. The base TL is more for the comfort-minded buyers who must find the 280-hp V6, more than ample for the shuttle. The low-effort steering response, however, feels decidedly artificial, and the car does not have the previous TL’s nimble nature.
